Ask me Anything! (Storytime)

Hi! Is this thing on?

Last post on here was December 2019. Hmm, I wonder what happened in 2020? 😉

Not sure if this will still arrive in your inbox, but thought it worth sending out into the universe anyway. I have a fun Paris-related thing to share.

I’ve been asked to be a guest on the upcoming Storytime podcast, which is part of the Paris Underground Radio network.

This is quite the sneak peek, as the network isn’t live yet.

Brainchild of my friend Jennifer Geraghty, the network will host a number of different podcasts about Paris, from food to fashion, business to books, culture to the creative arts. Exciting, isn’t it?

The Storytime podcast will feature authors who have some connection to Paris. I’ll be interviewed then read a few pages from my novel “As a River.”

The twist is that the host wants the questions to come from YOU!

If there’s anything you’ve ever wanted to ask – about my life, my novel, Paris, and now Spain! – here’s your chance. Jennifer will choose her favorites and I’ll make sure to post the link here when it’s ready so you can hear the answers.

While I’m here, seems fitting to give a whirlwind wrap-up of the past year and a half, as maybe your question is, what the heck have you been up to?

My novel won the 2021 Crook’s Corner Book Prize for best debut novel set in the American South!

I’ll just start by saying that I am healthy and well and hope that you and all of your loved ones are, too. I know several people who were affected by Covid, including my dad, and I want to send warm light and love to anyone who needs it.

I’m still awaiting the vaccine here in Spain (they’re going by age group and currently they’re vaccinating 49-year olds. Just a little longer to wait!), but I’ve weathered the pandemic pretty well.

The biggest news is that I did a complete career pivot and am now a voiceover artist. Whoa! What?!

Y’all, discovering this new passion is what kept me going through all of this.

Recording in my soundproof booth. Check out my website if you want listen to some samples!

Much to say about it, but perhaps I’ll save it for the next post. If you want to hear more about it, let me know in the comments!

And don’t forget to ask your questions about ANYTHING for the Storytime podcast. Looking forward to connecting again!

paris (im)perfect?

Sion Dayson is paris (im)perfect. Writer, dreamer, I moved to France on – no exaggerating – a romantic whim. As you can imagine, a lot can go wrong (and very right!) with such a (non)plan. These are the (im)perfect stories that result.
