Did you know, you’re not allowed to sit on the grass in certain Paris parks?
This small one behind my apartment is no Jardin du Luxembourg, but you’re not supposed to sit on certain sections here, either.
I have to admit, I often disregard the rule.
Make a wish
I have been told to climb down from the tiny hill where I took this picture. Never a good feeling to be scolded – especially in French! But I risk it just to have this little pocket of goodness to myself for awhile. (Also, don’t you just want to reach out and grab that dandelion puff to make a wish?)
What’s to say about April in Paris that hasn’t already been said?
Don’t know, but we’ve been having an awesome run here: sun! blue skies! warm temperatures!
In fact, out of the five I’ve experienced, this has to be the best April (weather-wise) I’ve seen. A spring this nice even makes the annoyances of living here less annoying. (Yes, I’ve had another run-in with La Poste! Arg!)
Today, the sky has returned to the more familiar cloudy mix. So I just wanted to give thanks now for the happy spring we’ve had recently. Counting my blessings (or more aptly, naming my blessings) is an important theme for me this year.
Ah, Ella and Louis. Just thought I’d throw that song in there, as it’s a great one. Listening to that actually makes me nostalgic for April in Paris – and I’m already here! It makes me feel classy just hearing it. Doesn’t really feel like my life or anything, but hey, it’s good for dreaming.

Fleurs! Fleurs!
For some reason I liked seeing all of these flowers…in front of the flowers of a flower shop. (Can there ever be a) flower overload? (No!)

Oh, geesh…Paris in April is so gorgeous. Those flowers, the dandelion puffs, that beautiful door…even the word “fleurs.” Makes me want to climb on a plane this morning.

I’m meeting my sister in Paris tomorrow morning. I can’t wait. It’s good for our soul, meeting up in Paris. It’ll be our 5th time. Life is good!

It looks lovely, Sion. Hopefully you’ll also have a better summer up there than the last! We are also in full bloom, the grape vines are leaving and I’ve already been to the beach. It just feels like it’s going to be a good year, doesn’t it?

I love your blog. It makes me feel connected to Paris, just a bit. I’ve been a number of times, but never in April. I always love the storefronts and sidewalks of the fleuristes. Just a hopefully not annoying note, and probably it was just a typo, but flaunt and flaut are commonly confused. Flaut is to blatantly disregard a law or rule, flaunt is to show off, as in “it you’ve got it, flaunt it!”

Springtime here really *does* help one’s mood! I had the privilege of walking with another blogger today through the Parc des Buttes Chaumont, and it did me a world of good to do so. You’re right, there can NEVER be too much of a flower overload! For sure.
Whoever made travel reservations this April is going to be mightily-pleased, I think! Happy travels to your commenters up there. They are some lucky folk!

We’ve had a couple of warm weekends in Virginia, and I’ve taken full advantage on Sundays. I like to grab a book and a camera and head into the woodsy section of the local botanical garden. Even if the main part of the garden is overflowing with visitors, I can find peace and quiet out in the woods by the lake.
Today, I switched two of the header photos on my blog to pictures taken at the garden this past weekend. The turtles are my favorite. 🙂 -Jen

Jealous (as usual). We are on Easter break here starting tomorrow and one of my teacher friend is flying to Paris and spending our twelve days off in Paris, Lyon, and Prague!! I am green with envy. A few days ago I got on the Eurostar website and started checking tickets from London to Paris departing in… November. Is that bad??

Ok, admittedly, Paris in November is definitely no April in Paris. But my first ever trip to Paris was in late November. It was cold, rainy, gray – and I thought this was the most beautiful place I’ve ever been.
And hey, that’s a great time for you head over for another selfish reason. My birthday month!
