I’m not sure I should be promoting consumerism, but I’m actually publicizing the chance to win a whole bunch of free. Groupon is a deal-a-day website. They negotiate huge discounts with local merchants to offer bargains to customers. Since this means a lot of new people will frequent the business, it’s kind of win-win-win.
I just bought a deal for all-day access to a sauna/hammam/jacuzzi for 12 euros, for example. I also have a massage waiting for me at 29 euros.
(See, the only problem with receiving the daily email is that I go, wow! That’s really cheap! Think of how much I’ll save! But then that means I actually spend money. So, um, that’s not really saving. But anyway, who cares? I’m mostly into the health and wellness offers, so I’m actually doing something good for myself, right? Right?)
Well, for their anniversary, they’re having a contest, which if you win, would make these sorts of debates moot. The winner receives a full-year of deals!
So give it a go if that sounds good. Oh, yeah, and by posting this, I get an extra chance to win, too 🙂

Well, it’s good that you’re avoiding temptation, I guess. Now that I’m signed up for the newsletter, every day it’s like “hmm, how many massages do I *really* need?” 🙂 Of course, there are a whole bunch of things that don’t interest me in the least. This being France, there are a whole lot of “slimming down” things (minceur) and sessions of PowerPlate which I can safely take a pass on 🙂

I have a link for an interesting-sounding spa/massage place in Paris and am thinking that may be an excellent last-day treat for my next trip there. Not a bargain, though.
